How do I post an issue or write a blogpost?
Fill in our simple online form in the ‘Have Your Say’ section.

What is a community issue?
A community issue is anything that concerns you and others about where you live and affects day to day life. You can share your views or experiences of:

  • Community safety (e.g. anti-social behaviour, fire setting);
  • Community relations (e.g. racism, anti-social behaviour).
  • Local decisions (e.g. about housing, education, health, planning and transport).
  • Local services (e.g. Council, Police or Fire services).
  • Things to do locally (e.g. activities for young people or leisure facilities).
  • Your neighbourhood (e.g. abandoned vehicles, litter or fly tipping).

Can I post anonymously?
We prefer you to use your own name when posting issues and ideas. This is so others in the community know who you are and can offer advice and support.

We may need to contact you for further information at which point you may need to prove your identity. Where needed, this may help us assist you in your enquiry and provide you with the best service possible.

What happens to issues and ideas?
Issues and ideas posted on the website are passed to the local agency who is best placed to respond. Within 10 working days a response (comment) will be posted by Cambridgeshire County Council, Fenland District Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary or Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service. If an issue or idea can be dealt with, it will be tackled as quickly as possible.

Your local Councillor can advise what action you can take to get things done and influence local decisions.

Is the website safe for children and young people?

We take the safety of the community seriously, especially children and young people. All posts are moderated by trained administrators and must adhere to our Terms of Use.

Posts should never contain contact information like mobile phone numbers or email addresses. If you do see any unsuitable issues, please use the ‘report inappropriate content’ link or contact us.

If you are adding an image and / or a video clip featuring children under 18 and / or vulnerable adults you must ensure that you have permission from their parents, carers or legal guardians for them to appear on the internet and ShapeYourPlace.org.
